So, I am deciding whether to go to Harvard SSP or just take online courses over the summer. At SSP, I would take Multivariable and Intro to Psych, and online I would take Linear Algebra, AP US history, and AP Psych through CTY. Obviously, I save a lot of money through the online option, but my real concern is: which one looks better on college applications?

YOU SHOULDN’T BE DOING SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE IT LOOKS GOOD ON COLLEGE APPS.

If you want to do something, it should be because you truly enjoy it. With that in mind, Harvard SSP is completely pointless - anyone can go there as long as they pay the $$$. It does not look good at all on college apps and only screams “my family is rich”.

I would only go there for the experience. I went there this past summer and I got financial aid for most of it. The classes were great, and living in Cambridge was a ton of fun.

Definitely go there if you want to experience Cambridge/Boston and college, and if you want to take great courses in something you are interested in.
