Harvard students

Harvard and universities as such don’t only require top grades; they need PERSONALITY.
And other stuff.

So why is it still hard for people that get +2300 on their SAT and have a 4.0 GPA to get in? What KIND of people make it there?

I’m expecting to get “there isn’t only 1 kind of people that make it there” kind of answers, so what do the admissions office look for in a student? How do they see “the spark” in a girl/guy?

Do they want confidence and high speaking ability? Leadership? A genius mind?

What is it they focus on most?

They do. Personality alone is not enough.
From what I heard, it is hard for everyone to get into schools like Harvard. But for people who have >2300 SAT, it’s not as hard as for someone with a bare 2000. I think they do reject 2400s, however, but that may be because of luck: These people got their profile read at the end of the day; the adcoms are tired; they have voted to accepted 20 people with identical stats. So these people might be voted out, while the luckier ones got in.

oh yeah, and they might also be Asians…

Where you quoted me, I hope you noticed I said “don’t ONLY require top grades”. I’m very sure they need the top grades, but I’m asking about those that do get the top grades. What else do they need?
