Harvard Transfer Thread?

tmasta said it was because of the boat. …

Anyone who wants my essays drop me an email at tjb14@duke.edu I’ll send it along right away. My app wasn’t anything special. I did it a week after catching mono, sent it in a week late, and handwrote the common app.

As for why Iw ant to leave duke, I don’t. It just isn’t harvard. I love it there. I like my fraternity, and I love my friends and my improv group. It’s a tough call.

Or I guess I could post the essays here…would that be weird?

do you think you will indeed leave?

Dude I just have no idea. Right now I’m thinking I’ll stay, but I don’t know.

could you pm the essays?

And the admissions committee fails again! :)

haha well that’s flattering.

the admissions committee always fail

lol yeah no offense to you it’s just funny that their job is to admit the best candidates but also admit those likely to attend. you’re a lucky, crafty person.

on its way…

Well its not like I’m not going. Just unsure. I’m afraid no one there will go out or have fun, etc. I don’t want to attend poetry readings every weekend…Thoughts?

" no one there will go out or have fun, etc."

not sure, but i guess there’s not that much “fun”. And the fame stuff is what they care. just as the boat you were in.

I feel dense. You’ve mentioned this boat I’m in twice now. What do you mean?

tmasta, i just e-mailed you for the essays. or you could PM them. thank you so much!

oh, and for Everax… I haven’t applied as a transfer yet. I’m a senior in high school.

here’s what you said “…applied to transfer because, hey, it’s Harvard? That’s the boat I’m in.”

I mean that we might need to admit that the fame of the school is what most people care. do you think so ?

Ah, of course. The boat.

The fame of the school is clearly one of the more compelling reasons to go. That, and all the ridiculous people you get to meet. But fame is totally a driving force. I’ll admit it.

and we are forced to be the slaves of fame, isn’t it ?

the society needs fame, the business needs fame, even the history needs fame … and so do we.

Something else that might be of interest: I caught mono second semester and dropped a class (“medical withdrawal”), so I was underloading. Apparently not a fatal thing to do.

tmasta, I just received your e-mail. Thank you so much!
