So…what are chances for admission for a minority Puerto Rican with these stats? Is the ACT good enough especially since the applicant is a minority?

What are the avg ACT for Harvard, yale, princeton, duke??

This sounds a lot like your application - indeed I would say it is - and you’ve posted your stats many times before asking for chances.

I like how the OP makes it sound so hypothetical!

Almost beats: “So I have this friend…”

Stele32, yes, all the ECs are part of my list but I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW THE ACT AND NEW SATII SCORES WOULD AFFECT THE APPLICATION! Please post your opinion NOT THE OBVIOUS!! Thank You!

Wow, some people asking for the advice and help of others sure can be rude…

I give them a 0% chance until they can figure out that they should post chances threads, hypothetical or otherwise, in the chances forum.

“GPA: 7.0 on a scale of 4.0”

LMAO!!! hahahahahaha

Even though the ACT score is good, I would suggest taking the new SAT anyway, since (I think) it is preferred at these schools.

Are you SERIOUS! AWWW… I really don’t want to take the SAT. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke all take both but does it REALLY hurt your application if you take the ACT? I would think it would not! What is Harvards average ACT composite? What about for minorities?

Sorry Stele32 and Entropic for being rather rude…it’s just that I posted this to be a possible goal to have…if it at all would survive at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke. It is different from my really application and even if it were mine what does it matter? i posted this for a reason. Anyway, i appreciate your time!

Your attitude will be reflected in your application. If what you said is true, then Harvard will be very happy, but if there is one character flaw, then they’ll just pass you over for someone else, because they can.

Wait wait…tell me exactly what character of me did you get out of my post? I wish to expand on this? So Harvard likes volunteers who really devote to the promotion of education…that what Beta Club is.

Instead of acting honestly, saying that these are your statistics, you said that it was a “sample.” Furthermore, your posts paint you as a Harvard fanatic rather than a passionate kid.

It’s not like we aren’t telling you your chances, but you’ve been posting the same thing several times - twice already in the Harvard forum:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=66288</a>
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=73013</a>
Plus innumerable threads of the same thing in other forums (Yale, Columbia, Princeton, Chances)

I don’t know if you’ve realized this, but it’s still summer! School won’t start for a few more weeks, EA/ED college applications won’t be due for another three months, and RD apps won’t be due for another five months. Asking for chances won’t change a thing.

Sample as in a GOAL(!!) to achieve my test scores that I have posted are different! I just wanted to see if they would give me the push I need in context of MY GRADES AND ECs …so this really is NOT my application but similar…just different test scores. If I just posted about tests score improvments without the context of others things it would not give a good picture. Also, HEY HEY HEY at least I do this chances post like once a month not like every week like some other kid with a long list…in the chess club.

This is an example of why there are mandatory personal interviews.

because of your personality- 0.001% chance.

maybe if you blew off your interview, your chances may rise.

not like every week like some other kid with a long list…in the chess club.

In the chess club? You’re listing Church Usher man!

Thank you, PSedrishMD. I really think my interview counted a lot in my application.

WOW I’M A HARVARD UNDERGRAD, LET ME RATE THIS SAMPLE APPLICANT!!! apfreak, you’re really annoying with all your threads and capitalized letters and !!!. Go read a book or something.
