Hi! Great that I found you! I’m 18, international student in Austria (I moved to Austria for Highschool) going to my senior year this fall. I have A+ in English and I’ll most supposedly remain my A+ this coming school year. I’ll take SAT soon. Should I consider taking TOEFL, as English isn’t my first language? Can my TOEFL result be considered to my adverse, if I submit it? Or should I rely on my A+ in English and a good SAT score in English?
Thanks =))

Does Harvard accept superscores? I’m confused about what they say on their website.
I think your EC is very stand out in your state (AL). For your school ranking, do you know you are just top 5%, or maybe top 2%, top 1% ? Are you straight A studnet?
Top 5% iirc
They do not iirc
I think if you have a solid transcript, which means rigorous course load, almost all As, then you will have a shot
Here’s what the website says:
What that means is that although they consider the highest section scores (as one would report in the common app) they don’t formally calculate a superscored composite. So, to me it’s a distinction without a difference. Here’s what Compass Prep says about this type of policy, using UIUC as an example:
These school fall somewhere between “highest composite” and true superscoring. For instance, University of Illinois—Urbana-Champaign’s policy states, “If you took either test more than once, we’ll use your highest sub-scores in our evaluation. However, we don’t use your highest sub-scores from different test sittings to create a super-score.” We find this to be almost a distinction without a difference, especially since some colleges do the same thing behind the scenes but label it “superscoring.”
Thank you for your response! So, would that mean that Harvard will only see the highest score from each category? I don’t need to submit the entire composite scores for both tests?
Look to the website for guidance (do this for all your schools). Harvard allows self reporting of test scores, which most schools do. No need to send official scores in the application process unless that’s what the school requires.
On common app, you report your highest composite score and each of your highest section scores (noting test date for each.)
Yes. Applicants may provide self-reported test scores. Admitted students who self-report SAT and ACT scores and decide to enroll at Harvard College will be required to submit official SAT and ACT test scores upon enrolling.
