Harvard Waitlist 2015 **discuss here**

Georgetown

Harvard is my only waitlist.

Lafayette.
Also waitlisted at Columbia, Dartmouth and Tufts.

S is enrolled at Dartmouth…wait listed only at Harvard

Durham, UK

MIT… wailisted only at Harvard.

My D has committed to Princeton. Declined MIT, Columbia etc., WL Harvard

i don’t normally post in the thread, and i promise i’m not a ■■■■■ either, but one of my friends living in the tristate area just got accepted off the waitlist yesterday afternoon… she was z-listed, and she’s definitely going to take the spot. just wanted to let everyone know.

(i know someone in the other waitlist room thread said they’d heard about an acceptance as well)

Cornell (arts and sciences)

jcampstudent, do you know if the acceptances coming out now are just for the z-list?

Berkeley (Biology)

thanks for the news, jcamp!

MIT : 26 out of 1000 ( 65 out of 723 for 2014)
Harvard : 10~15 out of unknown number (94 or 2014)

Both institution announced that higher rate of matriculation made much less off-waitlistee
than last year. In the past years, was there correlation, either postive or negative
in number of off-waitlistee between two schools? I think there are not a small number of sudents who got the admission from both. Or Yale and Princeton waitlistee are getting the benefit from this result.

@insarix That sounds to me like there were fewer MIT-Harvard cross-admits, no?

what’s z-list?

^a list of students admitted to next year’s entering class, which means they are forced to take a gap year and become part of class of 2016.

@exultationsy
I am curious to know whether there has been correlation between two. If there are many MIT-Harvard cross-admits, one of the two may have more off-waitlistee with simple assumption of just for the two. However things must be much more complicated since there are many (just presume) who got the more admissions from the other top such as
P or Y . I saw some of them in oficial Harvard University 2015 Decisions Thread
in this CC. Thank you for your comment.

Stanford accepted 13 of their waitlist (also the college to which I will be heading next year unless a miracle occurs)

Harvard College Waiting-List Update

Late this week, Harvard College offered admission to a small number of students on its waiting list. Individuals who have not received official notice of an action on their application still are under active consideration. The Admissions Committee will complete its deliberations no later than July 1, 2010.

We very much appreciate the interest shown by all candidates who decided to remain on Harvard’s waiting-list this year.

^^ Kinda sounds like decisions already went out to the 10-15 :(

OH WAIT **** THAT’S FROM A PREVIOUS YEAR, HAHA, NVM
