hmm yeah i think that’s the general ao office i wonder if those who said decisions are coming out today happened to call specific officers
any updates?? did anyone get a call or did anyone’s portal change?
nope to both. doubt there’s a wave today. maybe next week tho bc the hearing was just today
Hopefully this makes a lot more sense for wl release
“ Probably June 5 or 12”
could we have someone call tmr and ask? please confirm for real this time tho
I will have my student call tomorrow. Those who are “calling” seems like lies. As the AO doesnt give out much info, and the people answering dont know much either.
sounds good, thank you for your help
any new news? anyone call yet?
i just made account to say that i called the admissions office and the lady on the phone said they had not planned to make decisions yesterday. she said that there might be “one or two more waves” and to keep an eye open. we also talked a little bit about the DHS and visa situation and she said that waitlist decisions would not (or at least have not yet) been affected by the current administration. she was really kind and i thought about asking more but i didn’t want to bother her too much so i thanked her and apologized for bothering her with my call in the first place. anyway, the number i called was 617-495-1551 and you can call yourself if you’d like to verify. she herself acknowledged that theres a lot of conflicting information posted online and said that it’s best to hear from the source, which i strongly agree with.
thank you so much for confirming lol. that makes sense to have more waves tbh that’s usually how it goes too.
If you plan to attend, try to reach out directly to the pre-orientation director for the pre-o of your choice even though it is past the deadline to enroll, sometimes they make room.
hi, hilary, by chance do you have their contact info ? If you can give it, it would be highly appreciated.
Which pre-o are you interested in? The contact information is here: Pre-Orientation | Harvard College Dean of Students Office
First Year Outdoor Program (FOP) historically has been the most popular, but that popularity has meant, at least in the past, that not all who applied were accepted. The Arts Program (FAP) accepted all last year, including my waitlisted>accepted daughter. She loved it and made many/most of her friends in the program, including a lot of students who aren’t necessarily planning to concentrate in the arts, e.g. STEM students.
hi, do you mean that even if we are waitlisted, if we really want to attend harvard still, we should try to sign up for pre orientation before we are even accepted? does that affect our chances at all or is it just to get to know harvard better in the slight case we are accepted
No, you’re not allowed to apply to those programs, as you are not admitted.
She is saying to the person who got off the waitlist to participate in a PO program.
Hi, yes, as JackDavis stated, I was responding to the student that was admitted off the waitlist (and others who might be admitted). The applications for pre-o close before waitlisters are admitted; I was just letting that admitted student know that there’s still a good chance of getting in to pre-o even though applications are technically closed - and pre-o is worth a couple of well-placed emails.
ohhh okay sorry for the confusion lol
anyone down to ask when we could maybe expect the next wave? or have predictions?
I just called today. The lady said they probably gonna some waives in June.
And also mention that everybody is going to know their result by the end of July
alright sounds good, thank you so much. any estimates on how many acc will get off now and what kind of ppl?
