81% yield? Wow. And, to think, it used to have a “meager” 75% yield. Well, what do you expect? It’s Harvard, and some things never change ;).

My friend is going to Harvard to major in math – He turned down MIT, Princeton, Stanford, Cornell and the other Ivies.

All this (plus the BEAUTIFUL campus) is making me fall in love with Harvard Medical School … which is a very bad thing, as I have almost (heck, fine, none) zero chance of getting in. Sorry for rambling, but it’s true :D. I just hope that I can do well at awesome Tufts and MAYBE apply there.

^You do realize that HMS has it’s own campus in the Longwood area, right? You wouldn’t exactly be traipsing across Harvard Yard if you were a medical student.

^ True, I’m romanticizing a bit – But, even so, the Med School (NOT for the rank, for their excellent program in surgery) is highly appealing. I want to become a cardiac surgeon (lofty goal, I know) and their surgery program at the Med School is my high, impossible dream. Right now, I’m also in love with Duke Medical School as well…and that isn’t so good either (as it is also top in surgery/research.) I need to create realistic choices sometime SOON ;)

Although, my future undergrad school (I’m a HS Senior, so all this is dreaming and castles in the air) , Tufts, is pretty high ranking…

^ It’s gorgeous – My dad’s friend’s daughter goes there. All this is making me like it all the more … not a great idea. (at least, not until junior year of college, when it’s time to judge my chances.) Ah well…as someone somwhere who’s wise said, a girl can dream.

I do say this all as a humanities major who just happened to end up on HMS’s campus while exploring Boston once or twice, so I don’t really know.
