As of Jan. 25, harvey Mudd has given up it’s role as the lone school not accepting the ACT. Their press release says they will begin accepting it for the 2007-2008 school year http://www.hmc.edu/headline/ACT.htm

I am quite excited. This was one of the few pet peeves I had with HMC admissions - seriously, they need to make our school easier for people in the midwest to apply to. There’s a whole pool of math and science talent just waiting to be recruited. Now we can!

YES! My ACT scores blows away my SAT scores. Great news!

So does this mean they’re accepting the ACT for the entering class of 2007, or for the high school seniors who graduate in 2008? Because like MrSpam, my ACT scores are much better than my SAT scores.

My guess, reading
from their website, is that since we are at the end of this academic yrs (2006-07) app. process, it probably means it will start for the next academic year. But thats just my opinion. It certainly doesn’t hurt to call them and plead your case. At least it shows them you’ve been reading their website (or you can claim you have been… don’t have to tell them you saw it here )
