Has any international outside of US received their acceptance letter?

If you could tell me yes or no, that would be great. Also, where are you located and what date was is sent? Thank you.

I’m in Ontario, Canada and I received my letter on Friday… and was accepted! You should probably be receiving yours soon. Where do you live?

Congrats! It’s for my sister. She lives in Central America. What are your stats like? Thanks.

My stats:
SAT I: 1420
SAT II: 710, 730, 740
GPA: 4.0 (unweighted)
Rank: 2/210

hmm… what other stuff is supposed to be included? I have lots of extracurricular activities. My essays were good (well I thought they were), I’m hoping that my recommendation letters were good. I got teachers that know me quite well to write them. As you can see, my stats aren’t too impressive. Don’t really know how I managed to get in… haha. How are your sister’s stats?

I’m from Nepal
My friend his acceptance letter today by TNT(express mail) for RD.

Congrats Lucy! What were your ECs BTW?

not sure exact SAT score
no rank but highest graduating gpa in her class
president/founder of organizations
national honor society
skipped a grade
organizes trips and volunteers at children’s hospitals
trilingual (Chinese, English, and Spanish)
varsity basketball and tennis
plays piano, violin, and guitar
excellent recs (one is from principal who adores her and actually volunteered to be the advisor for one of her clubs)
not so good essays-unoriginal, though she can write beautifully if she really put in the effort (she is one of those lazy but very intelligent people who seriously make you sick because they rarely study)
plays in local band, very artsy/edgy type of girl, etc.
I don’t know though, she got waitlisted at JHU and Wash U. Bad luck or just not strong enough, but I guess you never know with these admissions.

My ECs:

  • drama (act in school and two community theatres… do an average of 3-4 plays each year)
  • dance
  • sing
  • play piano
  • play violin
I’ve won a lot of stuff in the above - like competitions and scholarships
• Students’ Council Secretary
  • play Ringette
  • volunteer at retirement home, with Red Cross, Liberal Party of Canada, Multicultural Association, India Canada Association
  • started school for underprivileged children in India
  • quadlingual: English, Hindi, French and Mandarin

actually come to think of it, compared to others, this isn’t too impressive. I guess it might’ve been my essays that got me in.

What is Ringette?

Ringette’s a sport. It’s a lot like ice hockey. It’s played on ice with skates, but instead of a hockey stick, you have a straight stick without the blade part and instead of having a puck you have a rubber ring. The rules are different from ice hockey though. I guess it’s a Canadian thing. But then again, it’s not too common here either =P.
