Has Any One Used "Wet and Forget" Moss/Mold/Mildew/Algae Stain Remover?

I saw this product yesterday at Costco (much cheaper btw than online):
https://www.costco.com/Wet-%2526-Forget-Moss%2C-Mold%2C-Mildew-%2526-Algae-Stain-Remover-0.75-gallon%2C-2-pack.product.100338171.html

Wondering if you’ve tried it, exactly how you applied it, pros/cons???

We have a very large wood stained deck - a good portion of it is shady and it gets mildew, etc. in the summer with wetness, humidity, etc. I’ll scrub it once or twice a summer…but it’s only so effective and hard to do on the railings. We also have a wood painted fence - H is actually repairing and plans to sand and repaint soon - but that also gets green stuff on it.

Are these appropriate spots to try this product? Sounds like you literally mix up the concentrate, spray a coating on your surface and let it be? Any rain will help it do it’s work? If it doesn’t rain, do you let it sit for a period of time then lightly spray with the hose???

I’m tempted to run to Costco and get a pack (2 bottles) today before they run out of it.

Reviews are conflicted — read them at the listing you posted.

Of course I did read them! 24/31 are 5 star ratings and I already knew about being careful around pets and plants. Bleach is certainly not much less potent which is often used to address mold/mildew!

My husband has used it on our roof and on the covers we keep on the outdoor furniture over the winter. It seems to work - he’s bought it more than once. I assume he followed the label directions (as an engineer, direction following is in his dna)

DH has used it and is happy with it.

Ran into Costco where this store conveniently had it right when you walk in. Will report back if anyone is interested when we get it applied!

I haven’t looked at “Wet and Forget”, but I know last time I looked at several of these products that say all you have to do is spray and rinse, or just spray - most of them had fine print that said for best results use a scrub brush.

And it might depend on where you live. In high humidity area it doesn’t work that great.

I often put it on the deck, patio and steps in early spring and usually things look great in a month or two, some areas require another application, that is easier than scrubbing the exposed aggregate.

It works great on stone, brick and pavers. Rinsing or scrubbing are not necessary, but you need to give it some time to work.
