Has anyboy repaired a badly cracked LCD television?

<p>Don’t ask…</p>

<p>It’s apparently not just the protective glass, but the LCD panel itself. Most of the internet says “just” replace the television, but a May 2010 article says repair is now possible. It’s a 7 month old, 50+ inch Sony Bravia.</p>

<p>My friend had a brand new (month or two) 50 inch Sony Bravia and her young son broke the screen (kids+expensive TVs+video games = not a good mix). At that time she was told it was not possible to repair it (about a year ago). Don’t know if things have changed since then.</p>

<p>Did you buy it with a credit card - and if so, does your card have some kind of purchase insurance?</p>

<p>Cracked LCD is not repairable at least according to my computer repair expert…</p>
