Has anyone heard of 99tutors?

<p>Okay so I transfer to Texas A&M next month, so I am looking for jobs on or very near campus. I went to the jobs for aggies database, and a company called 99tutors.com was listed. I went to the application, though, and they need my Social Security Number… And that was just off putting to me because I’m trying to be very cautious. Has anyone heard of this company and do you know if they are safe to work for? Thanks!</p>

<p>I wouldn’t want to give mine out until I was hired either. It is not legally required just to look for a job until the point they are going to hire you or perform a credit check. </p>

<p>You could contact career services at your college for advice.</p>

<p>You could email the company and ask if there is another way to apply. Tell them you protect your number carefully but would be happy to supply it if you are interviewed or hired.</p>

<p>Don’t enter your social except directly through a legit website, never through links in anon emails, say.</p>

<p>Do agree that that sounds weird and I wouldn’t provide my SS just to apply for a job. Definitely reach out to A&M career services and ask about them.</p>
