<p>Has anyone who has ever scored a 30 composite on his/her ACT got accepted to Cornell CAS without a hook? I am nervous of my chances.</p>
<p>I’d be surprised if out of the thousands of people accepted none of them had a 30 or lower…</p>
<p>The answer is yes. There probably has been a person with a 25 ACT who has gotten in CAS without a hook. The thing is that they look at your application holistically - scores aren’t everything, but they are pretty darn important. It will hurt your chances, but it’s definitely not impossible. Also, there’s no reason to worry about this now when decisions come out tomorrow…</p>
<p>25% of the enterring class that reports ACT scores is below 30. I suspect many of them aren’t hooked.</p>

<p>I got in and I have a 30 ACT. I’m white and URM though… God I hope that’s not the only reason I was accepted, I worked hard… -_-</p>
<p>Of course! Like people said before, out of the thousands of people that have been accepted, it’s pretty much guaranteed that some had ACT scores under 30 and SAT scores under 2000. Test scores are just one of the many factors that admissions looks at when reviewing your app!</p>
<p>I’m more concerned abt sat subject tests. Unfortunately I didn’t have the opporunity to retake mine and I got a 680 on math 2 and 600 on span which is really bad. How much does this factor into cornell decisions. As was mentioned and I truly hope this is the case test scores play a small part in the admissions process. My act is 32 which is a lot better than my sat 2s, so I was wondering how much will my sat 2s hurt me since I’m applying CAS</p>
<p>If it makes anyone feel any better, I got into ILR with a 1990 SAT and 620 on the Literature exam. Then again, one could argue that I’m an URM, but like ScholarAthlete said, I’ve worked hard in school.</p>
<p>I got in with a 30 ACT. However, my GPA was above average (~97UW with rigorous course load).</p>

<p>I would say SAT II’s depend on the college/major. My guess is they aren’t that important in CAS, since you don’t declare your major until at least after your first semester. For Engineering, you better have good scores for the math/science exams.</p>
<p>I got in (eventually) with a 30 ACT… GT for CALS. Graduating from a tough major with a decent GPA so you are definitely intellectually capable of succeeding here. Best of luck to you!</p>
