I know that many people stuffed their apps in around this time, so admissions office has a lot of people to sort out. Has anyone been contacted about an interview? And how long should I expect to wait?
Interview assignments are done at the local level. Many have already been made, many have not. Some never will due to lack of volunteer slots. Your asking about “how many of you…” is immaterial since the only thing that matters is how many your local group can get assigned and then, for those volunteers to quickly follow on with contacting the students.
I submitted my app at 10:45 PM EST on Jan 1, and I had my interview this past Thursday. Granted, I’m in NYC which might’ve had something to do with the quick response. However, as T26E4 alluded to, I think it’s more about how quickly you’re assigned somebody and how quickly your assigned interviewer reaches out to you.
And I can’t stress this enough:

Know that RIGHT NOW. so don’t fret if you’re never called. That’s why interviews are never mandatory.
Okay, calm down lol! I know people on this forum freak out over that, and don’t worry I fully understand.
Also, my question was “Has anyone…” not “How many of you…”; slightly different. I just wanted to see if it was even possible for a New-Years-submitter to have gotten a interview invite at this moment. Anyways, according to 2nd poster, it is possible, so now I’ll just patiently wait.
