Has Berkeley ever rejected a 2400 SAT candidate?

Just curious, has Berkeley ever rejected a candidate with SAT score 2400/2400? HYPSM certainly have.

I’m sure Berkeley has.

http://media.www.californiaaggie.com/media/storage/paper981/news/2003/10/08/FrontPage/Berkeley.Officials.Defend.Admissions.Policy-1315376.shtml

OK, I guess perfect scores mean 1600/1600, but what about 2400/2400.

This was just to give you an example…it’s likely that Berkeley doesn’t make public announcements regarding how many applicants with 2400s it rejects every year, and it’s very unlikely that you’ll find someone here who had a 2400 and was rejected from Berkeley, but from the article above and our logic, we can guess that Berkeley does reject students with 2400, although probably very very rare.

I talked to a VERY nice admissions assistant today and she told me that its not uncommon for berkeley to reject 4.0s with great files because of other factors. So Im sure theyve rejected 2400s as well.

of course, SAT scores don’t tell much about who you are.

I know 2 ppl rejected from cal with perfect scores. one guy didn’t have a great GPA (3.3), but the other one had like a 4.5 and was accepted at HYS, so I was lost on that one. But Cal is a great school with great applicants, so it doesn’t surprise me.

ditto to what punk said. so I don’t think Cal gives out that info, but the vibe I get and from my own experience, my feeling is it’s the whole package. Everyone on my street (the kids that have been to Cal and the parents who have been) all seem to use the word “unique”. I like to think that’s key. I don’t know . . . . I just get the feeling it’s not a numbers game. I saw this British t.v. show once where the guy kept shouting “I am not a number! I am a free man!” That to me is Berkeley’s essence.

Average score was 1337, hehe.

“The average score for the admitted class was 1337.”

Castel already touched on that, but HAHA, this says it all!

Well, we all know Cal is very 1337 anyway.

Nyuck nyuck.
