Has McCain lost his ability for straight talk - or is it that he never had it?

McCain on gay adoption yesterday, in the NYT:

From USA Today:

Does this guy actually believe in anything or does he always change his stance depending on who he is talking to?

And here’s another profile in crisp and courageous thinking:

[YouTube - McCain Get’s Awkward About the Viagra Issue](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkQDbfF4RqA)

He’s a politician. What do you expect?

At the very least, I expect the ridiculous, yet popular, notion that he’s a “straight shooter” to die an exceedingly quick death.

Maybe he can have a hunting outing with Dick Cheney…

That would lead to an exceedingly slow death.

He used to be a straight-talker. Mind you, being a straight-talker DOES NOT mean you’re right or even wise, but I did admire McCain for bluntly stating that his support for the confederate flag in 2000 was just a political ploy to try to win South Carolina’s primary. McCain has always been wrong on some key issues, but at least he had his integrity. Now, he doesn’t even have that, and he’s just left with “vehement Iraq War supporter and Bushconomist”. Eek.
