I was looking at the Lafayette website to read more about the scholarships they offer. I read through the information page regarding the Marquis Fellowship and Scholars merit aid. I know in the past there was a separate dynamic interview process for those selected to compete for the Fellowship (full tuition) but it isn’t mentioned at all on the website.
Have they eliminated that process? Are the fellowship scholarships now just awarded based on the normal application?
I have a junior there, and during her admissions process the dynamic interviews were still on (she did not get one though we hoped she might). After that, I don’t know, but I did not hear of a change.
My kid received the 1/2 tuition Marquis scholarship. He applied RD and was not offered an interview.
My son just received an invitation for the Marquis interview. Over the moon excited! Any idea how many students are finalists invited to interview?
My son just got the invitation as well. We’re super excited! The FAQ said that 650 were invited from a pool of 10,800 applicants.
Actually I just read this “You were then chosen as a finalist by the Marquis Awards Committee from a pool of approximately 650 semi-finalists from an applicant pool of over 10,800.” Which leads me to belive that the pool is now much smaller!
Wow! Looks like the applicant pool has increased from last year! Good luck with the interview!
