Forgive me in advance for the poor explanation but I really do know very little about the situation so I’ll do my best to explain.

A while back I spoke with a friend who is applying a lot of really good colleges (ei the ivies) she is also applying to some UC’s as backups. However, when she had sent her transcript in there was a glitch… a pretty bad glitch that they REFUSE to fix even though its stupid. Here’s what happened

Basically, this girl has been taking AP/Honors classes since freshman year. All classes at our school are year long courses. We dont offer semester long courses unless you are enrolled in a college to take some of your required classes there. Anyway, as most of you know, the UC’s have those A-G requirements in which the applicant must have a certain number of years/credits in a specific set of subject. Well, when this girl’s transcript got to the UC’s they only gave her credit for ONE SEMESTER of EACH class instead of the whole year of the class. What’s up with that? NOw she is not eligible for admission into any of the UC’s even though she is ranked 1/500 and has completed well above the UC’s a-g requirements. Also, the UC’s refuse to admit they made a mistake and will not allow her to resend another transcript or anything because its passed the deadline.

Btw, this happened to about 5 other students from the same school.

Scary huh? I’m applying to almost ALL UC’s. I hope this doesn’t end up happening to me.
