Has this hurt my chances at a prestigious university

So I applied to a summer program at a somewhat prestigious university, but did not get in. I then emailed individual professors asking if they would work with me over the summer, but they either said no or referred me to the program. I then realized that on the program description it said to not contact faculty directly, and now I am a bit worried. This is probably just me being OCDC, but professors wouldn’t tell admissions about this right? There would be no repercussions?

No, of course not. They just don’t want profs bothered by individual requests they can’t fulfill. Professors get a lot of unsoliticed mail so you should be thoughtful before contacting.

Ok, thank you. I am guessing that with much of the unsolicited email many profs wont reply? because several have no to my emails.
