Hi guys,
We are planning to send our daughter to college in a month, and with that we need to make sure she stays safe! We’ve had Virgin Mobile for years now, but for the last couple of months they’ve been VERY shady. Just recently all of our phones have not worked properly, and even if you would call me, my daughter would get all our voicemails as her phone was my phone at one time!

Has anyone else experienced any shady operations with them? Should we make the leap to verizon?

I have had verizon for years, it has the best service for my needs, but it certainly isnt a budget priced company.
It sounds like Virgin uses Sprint towers?
The best plan for your daughter may depend on where she is attending school, but larger companies usually have better coverage. Much can also depend on your phone and whether the software is updated.

We have Sprint family plan and my nonprofit has TMobile prepaid plan @$30/month for 1500 talk or text plus 250mb data. Sorry, no experience with Virgin. H used to have prepaid TMobile, $100 for 1000 minutes over 1 year with no monthly fees and rolled over for $10 top off fee at the end of the year.

Check with others at your Ds U about reception with various cells. For a while, none if our kids had reception with our TMobile, so we switched to Verizon. Most recently switched to Sprint with unlimited data.
