What does this song mean?

I think its pretty self-explanatory, no?

Hate it or love it
The underdog’s on top
And i’m gonna shine until my heart stop
Envy me…i’m raps MVP

^^Exactly, what’s the song about? I don’t get it!

OK…so there’s this rapper named “The Game”…“Hate it or love it” is his song.

Now…did you know Game before this song hit the radio. No! This is his debut album and it became a big hit. He is the “underdog” competing against the seasoned veterans of rap music - the guys that have released several albums and have been around for a long time - for attention of radio stations and fans.

And he became successful despite the pressure. Therefore, the “underdog” is “on top” - he’s popular.

Now, some people “love” this - his fans. Others “hate” it - people who think he does not deserve all the popularity and other rappers who are being outsold. But, they can “hate it or love it” or “envy” him…he’s still going to be “on top” because he’s raps MVP - most valuable player.

And he’s going to be “on top” until his “heart stops.” The “heart stops” is, in this case, a metaphor for his death. He’s going to be “on top” until he dies. People will “envy” him for it. But it doesn’t matter. The “underdog’'s on top.”

Hope that helped ;)

ooooooooooh…i see…THANKS!!!
I like that song a lot. I don’t know why…THANKS!!! :)

lol no problem. The whole album is pretty good. You should check it out.

does anyone know why he was dropped from g-unit? it’s probably on the internet, but i’m a lazy ■■■■■■■

Because he’s young, immature, and not loyal to the group.

Actually…50 cent and Game called an end to the rivalry a few days ago. Game is back.

If “not loyal to the group” means not willing to engage in stupid fights with every other record label around…then he’s got my respect.

And Bloods beat G-Unit any day.
