Have I been over-ambitious?

I am an international applicant from India.

I got rejected by UT Austin, and wait listed by UIUC. Because of this, I am starting to think that I should have applied to more lower ranked colleges.

ACT : 33 (E-34, M-35, R-31, S-30)

SAT :2110 (superscore) (M-800, CR-630, WR-680)
2090 (single sitting) (M-780, CR-630, WR-680)

SAT Subject : Math level 2 - 800, Physics - 780

School Grade : ~80% (school average is ~75%, is one of the best schools in India)

EC : NASA competitions, project with professor from renowned university here, co-founder of NGO etc
Good letters of appreciation from various teachers and professors, good essays

I applied to the following colleges:
UT Austin (rejected)
UIUC (waitlisted)
UMich (deferred from EA)
GTech
McGill
USCD
UCLA
UC Irvine
UC Berkley
Cornell
Brown
Rice
Purdue (Accepted!!)

Was I over-ambitious? Which all colleges do I have a real chance of getting in?

Thanks in advance

I’d say UCI and McGill are probable acceptances. Are you full pay?

@intparent Yeah, I didn’t apply for aid anywhere as it might have diminished my chances further.
