<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>i’m an intl from Australia and im applying ed Yale next year. Here are my stats:</p>

<p>SAT: 800cr, 770 maths, 730wr
Subject Tests: 800 French with Listening, 760 World History. Will do Maths II and Lit in Jan, predicting 750+ and Chinese later in Nov predicting 750+</p>

<p>Other Academics:</p>

<p>-First in Australia with a perfect score in the Australian French Language Certificates
-Came top in the state in science and Commonwealth Bank Financial literacy comp.

  • Placed equal 3rd in Aust. Geography Comp
  • Won Wellesley Book Prize
  • Top of my grade 4 out of 5 times…yeah i’m a nerd :slight_smile: (and my school is highly selective, top 5 in the state)
  • Captained Academic Decatholon Team- 2yrs, came 2nd and 3rd in the state
    ECS:</p>

<p>I do a whole stack of debating:

  • NSW Combined High Schools Representive Debating Team, Firsts (only female junior selected)
  • Winner of NSW rep team challenge
  • Best speaker at University of Technology Sydney Registrar’s Cup
  • Runner up/Sydney region winner in various state-wide competitions from yr 7-12 (i was a junior member of the senior team)
  • Winner of Junior Debating Championships/ Represented Sydney region
  • Selected for Junior State Debating Team
    -Organised charity debates at school
  • School Debating Captain</p>

<p>In addition:

  • I do professional film/book reviews for filmreview.org and other websites
  • done model UN, Sydney Region winner
    -Charity for various organisations e.g. Royal Blind and Deaf, Genes for Jeans, Red Cross, Salvation Army…about 200 hrs in total
  • I’m a school prefect with a focus on PR
  • On various committees e.g. yearbook, jerseys.</p>

<p>…so if i apply ed next year what are my chances…please be blunt and honest.</p>

<p>innocentstalker1- Yea, but she took/is taking four others… I think she’ll be fine with her selection. As for Yale itself, hopefully the dart hits the bullseye; you have a legitimate shot but so do way too many people.</p>

<p>You look great. You’re from Australia, your SAT scores are really nice, and you have a good debating/community service record.</p>
