Basically I managed to drop the 3.8 GPA I worked 4 years for to below a 2.0 in my first semester of college. I want to change my major and my college but will another college even accept me with such bad scores?
Schools with open enrollment would accept you. Typically these include community colleges.
I want to apply to an art institute for music. Should I try raising my GPA before putting in my application?
The standards for admission for transfer students are probably on the art institute’s website. Typically a 2.0 would be expected as a minimum but you could email the advisor in your area to get more information about it. If the art institute has selective admissions, if would be hard to see how your current GPA would convince them to choose you over someone else.
