It ask me to list out my expenses but when I went to another school I didn’t have rent, food, phone bill, utilities or any expenses because my parents paid for everything. I didn’t even work.

Apparently I have to list out my expense for 2015. For my CSU it wants me to put down my expenses like rent, utilities and etc in a form. THis is for financial aid.

They want what you spent in 2015? On what form?

What FORM are you completing?
If you are applying for need based aid from a CSU (California??), the only financial aid form you would be completing is the FAFSA.

were you living at home with your parents in 2015? Is this form asking for YOUR expenses…or your parents?
As of 2018 I am over 25 so I applied as an independent student. The form is asking about my expenses in 2015 and they are asking me to list out all the money I received. I was under 25 and I was living with my parents so I was independent. They paid for everything.
It is asking for my expense in: Transportation, Rent, Phone/utilities, Food and etc. Thing is, my parents paid for everything.

When you are considered a dependent student for financial aid, it is expected that your parents will pay for your school expenses (not that they necessarily will … it’s just the federal aid expectation) - so any expenses they paid on your behalf should not be included as other income the way it would be had you been independent that year. My suggestion is that you contact your aid office, speak with an aid officer (not a student helper), and ask what you need to do here. For example, they may allow you to just say that all your expenses were paid by your parents.
