Do I have to explain why I’m going RD over ED 2 in my LOCI? I also went EA over ED originally but was deferred. It’s for financial reasons as my family wants me to keep my options open regarding financial aid offers. They’re not my #1 choice, but they’re a close 2nd. I would have done ED 2 if not for my parents, but I can’t really blame them. So should I even bring it up?
I would not bring it up. The college, if they make any assumptions at all, would guess either that you need to keep your financial options open or that they are your second choice, either one of which is true, but no need to confirm it.
