"Have you lived in California continuously since birth"

I was born in California, graduated from a California high school, and currently live in California. I spent 9 months at an out-of-state college, but I maintained my voter registration and official addresses (for bills and the like) in California.

So… Have I lived in California continuously since birth? Obviously taking a vacation out-of-state doesn’t mean you’re not living in California, but where do you draw the line?

My guess would be after 1 year when you register for another state but I could be wrong, someone else would know better than I

The question is pretty straight forward – no tricks, no hidden caveats, etc.

If you attended a college outside the borders of the state of California, then you haven’t lived in California continuously since birth.

But don’t fret. A follow up question or two will allow you to confirm your CA residency, and you’ll end up in the same place without having somebody raise his/her eyebrows at your “yes” response to the original question juxtaposed with your out of state transcripts.
