A 2019 happiness goal (see my happiness list thread!) is to refresh one of my bathrooms. I am the painter at our house when redoing a room and have hung border (see the 1980’s- 90’s!) but don’t by any means feel I’m great at this kind of thing.
Any experiences? Removable to me is GOOD. I was thinking of just doing a feature wall - so just one wall in the bathroom. Also wondering if the moisture in the bathroom would make this not a good idea???
I’ve done it with mixed results. Some of it has stuck well and some of it has fallen off. This was in bedrooms. I would think there would be too much moisture in a bathroom. But, since you only want to do one wall, I say go for it and see how it works for your bathroom. Worst case scenario is that it falls off and you’re back to where you started. (BTW - mine didn’t leave any mark when it came off, either when it fell off or when I took it off.)
I think a lot of the concern about removing wallpaper comes from OLD wallpaper. I haven’t wallpapered recently but newer prepasted wallpaper is so easy and even without peel and stick I think it removes fairly easily too as long as the wall is primed. Just prep your wall carefully - make sure you have a good secure layer of primer so the wallpaper can adhere well. In the bathroom I’d use mold-killing primer.
I just had to come back to say that ever since I first commented on this, my phone has seen an abundance of peel-and-stick wallpaper ads. This would make sense if I logged onto CC on my phone. The irony of this phenomenon is that I only use CC on my office desktop computer because I can’t see my itty bitty phone screen well for websites.
my daughter has some older wall art stickers in her room (large random circles in solid colors) I feel like i can see air bubbles when i look at those stickers. . . . makes me wonder about peel and stick wall paper. (??)
I actually have 2 bathrooms with wall paper; one is similar in style to the link above. I really do like the look. If you are just doing one wall, I’d love to hear how it works, as my goal this winter is to deal with one of those bathrooms.
