I read up about this guy named Randal Pinkett, some of you probably know him. He has a B.S. from Rutgers, an M.S. from Oxford, and another M.S., an M.B.A., and a Ph.D. from MIT. I have always found his level of education really interesting and inspirational. Do any of you know of any other individuals that have many degrees from different prestigious schools?

James Franco is incredible…

What, no JD or MD degree? What a bum!

Actually, beyond a certain point it seems to me that accumulating more and more degrees becomes less about getting educated and more about collecting trophies - letters after your name and diplomas on the wall.

62 credits in one term?

No freaking way. I’d have to see his transcripts to believe that.

Aww yeah! That’s dude’s my hero.

bumppppppppp

i know a guy with a BA degree from a state school, MA oxford, PhD Harvard, JD Yale…he is sort of a clown. he may have spent so much time with his head in the books that he is kind of socially awkward, although he does make 7 figures

IMO, the marginal benefit of schooling decreases with every degree…

I have a BSc and a BA. Working on my MSc now. If I do a Ph. D I’ll have four.

After that, I’m done.

5+…that is overkill IMHO

if people have the money, time, desire, and willingness, i’d say it isn’t overkill.

And I thought having 2 masters degrees was awesome.

I’ve always wanted to have that many degrees…I’d be great at parties…
