<p>I’m applying to a fellowship to MIT EECS with monthly stipend $2600. I’ve a wife and a baby girl. Will I be able to provide them with a nice decent live?</p>

<p>My husband and I lived on my graduate stipend alone for one year, and it was okay, although it wasn’t easy. $30,000 doesn’t go very far in Boston, which is an expensive city. </p>
<p>I would advise looking into family housing at MIT. The apartments aren’t fabulous, but they are much less expensive than comparable apartments in the city. Many graduate students with families choose to live in family housing.</p>
