Having gaps between classes?

What is there to do in college if you have a 3-6 hour gap between your classes? Is it better to try to change it so your schedule have no time between each class?

Well, I have a 5 hour gap between one class in the morning and one in the afternoon on Thursdays. I usally head back to the dorm to just chill, have lunch, watch a little tv, etc. Every Thursday I have a quiz for my afternoon class, so I go the library to study before taking it.

You could try and change your schedule or you could just use the time to catch up on some homework, sleep, eating, socializing… whatever the case maybe.

I’m all about napping between classes… since attending college my sleep schedule is like that of a three year old. And I like it that way.

I work during my gaps.

Yes, naps are good

I have a 4 hour gap between my last morning class two days a week and my evening/late afternoon class. I do homework, do errands, take a nap, etc. I hang out with my friends in the dorm too.

I schedule so I have no gaps

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have a 2 hour 45 minute gap between my two classes. On an ideal day, I finish up any homework I didn’t do the night before for my afternoon class and then go to the gym. I always feel relaxed afterward, and it’s a nice change of scenery from my dorm room.

I have some big gaps in my schedule… tomorrow morning I’ve a 3 hour gap after my 1-hour 9am class. (and usually I try to avoid the dreaded 9am class, I HATE mornings!). Naptime :)

hit the gym

I have no gaps at all in my schedule. My schedule on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is 9:30-10:20, then 10:30-11:20. Tuesdays and Thursdays it’s similar: 9:00-10:15, 10:30-11:20, 11:30-12:45.

Mines probably the worst: on Fridays, I have class from 8-855, then from 1010-11, 1115-1205, 1220-110, 125-425. Thats basically class from 10-430 AND I have to wake up at 730.

?

Every day, 9:30-6:00 straight (yep, no lunch, no breaks of any kind). It’s not that bad. You get used to it.

If you have to have gaps go for bigger ones rather than short ones, so you can actually get something done. Otherwise you’ll probably just waste time between classes (that’s what I end up doing anyway, but hey). 3-6 hours is fine…do homework or something.

I stand corrected…

Hee, sorry for being like that… MIT reflex. We all like to play the “who gets less sleep and better grades” game. Moral of the story: double-majoring is a bad idea at some schools. ;)
