I’m a waitlistee
I’ve read articles that suggest having a teacher call in to advocate for you, but I can’t wrap my mind around how this would work. Is it even possible to get a hold of my admissions counselor by phone? Would it even be helpful, as in would they write down notes and put it in my file?

I didn’t apply to yale, so take this with a grain of salt…
It might be too late to do any sort of advocating- when I talked to H about sending stuff in, they said that all updates had to be sent in by May 1st to be considered (for waitlisted people). so… I’d assume it’s already too late. again, I have no idea how things work at Y.

Thanks, CNI. good thing I sent an update on May 1

Tila, care to explain your post?

I think what Tila is trying to say is that having a teacher call looks terribly like you’re sucking up to the school - plus, if the teacher had something to say, they should have included it in their recommendation.

Honestly, it’d probably be more of a detriment than a boost. Y really doesn’t need people to show interest… i mean, it’s yale. Just stick with your update. Also, I hope you overnighted that mail, bc. I’m pretty sure that H wanted updates “by” may 1, meaning they wanted it in their hands at that time.

it was emailed directly to the file room (lady on the phone gave me an address. It was emailed that evening
I received a confirmation from Yale, but none from Harvard. This is pretty much the case every time I send something to the 2.
