Having Trouble with Coursework....

In response to a few PMs I have received…

Freshman- recognize that You’re not alone!

There’s so many on campus resources in addition to your TA and your Prof’s office hours, seek out those resources you probably already heard about including those offered by:
[Academic Development - Carnegie Mellon University](<a href=“SASC - Student Academic Success Center - Carnegie Mellon University”>SASC - Student Academic Success Center - Carnegie Mellon University)

Work with peers-- it is the CMU mode of survival and more fun.

And as all the Deans said in the opening speeches…blah blah blah, if you were an A student in high school, be prepared for the unfamiliar. That really is true, there’s no shame in earning a B at CMU in many of the CIT and SCS classes.

Seek help as soon as you recognize you are having trouble with material – that help is available in many places.

Agreed.

What makes CMU different than other colleges is the amount of group work being done and the way students help out other students.

Nobody at CMU is out to get you. We operate under the idea that we’re all smart enough and good enough to land a great job when we graduate so instead of malicious competition that certain other schools may have, why not make yourself and your peers better?

There are so many ways to get help as OP mentioned above. Take advantage of them.
