<p>How bad is hazing in athletics? Is it still 80%? In all sports? Can prospective parents ask about this when their kid is being recruited? If the kid is in college and the parent suspects it - what is the best recourse?</p>
<p>My kid was a varsity athlete. They had one night of “official” hazing, from what he told me. </p>
<p>It involved relatively harmless stuff like swallowing goldfish whole and sticking you hand where you wouldn’t want it to go, while blindfolded - think water and squishy.</p>
<p>The coach wasn’t aware so a parent asking wouldn’t help. I never thought to ask.</p>
