HBCU vs UGA

Hi, I am an in state and I wanted to know someone’s experience about uga. I am torn between a HBCU and UGA. I want go to a HBCU to meet different people from around the world and learn more about my culture, but at the same time UGA is basically free for me… so can someone please help me

I think I can help you. I know alot of people that were faced with this dilemma. Really the presence of black culture is somewhat prevalent. There are many black organizations you can get involved with. Obviously HBCU will have more of what you are looking for in that respect but UGA is not as bad with that as I orginally thought before I came here.

I would definitely go UGA. If you want diversity, you won’t find it at an HBCU, and UGA is really trying to become more nationally, internationally, economically, and racially diverse every day. Also, UGA has lots of black organizations to get involved with to learn more about your own culture, as well as organizations for all other cultures (hispanic, native american, international, asian, etc.), so you can learn about other cultures, too.
