How many enter as undergrad freshman? AI says 217 in the BS program so only 50-55 kids admitted to BS HCDE? I am OOS so odds even lower?
HCDE is in engineering, so all are admitted as Engineering Undeclared. There is a secondary admission process to enter specific engineering majors after freshman year. Engineering Undeclared Students (ENGRUDs) | UW College of Engineering
For freshman admission into engineering, direct to college admit rates are here: Freshmen by the numbers – Office of Admissions
For secondary admission into each major after freshman year, placement data is here: Placement data | UW College of Engineering
Tx a lot tamagotchi. For a big public univ, entering HCDE first choice (freshman) of 50-60 kids is small ! CMU design school (and thus not an engineering degree) is 40 kids
Tamagotchi, does HCDE have ED, early action to get a decision by DecI, or just regular decision that arrive March/April?
UW Seattle has only regular decision. Here’s all the info: Freshman – Office of Admissions
You would be applying “direct to college” (to be admitted to engineering undeclared) rather than directly to the HCDE major.
Thanks . Did you attend (or are attending) HCDE?
No, but my daughter is possibly interested in this program (she’s a rising high school senior). It looks like a very good program.
My daughter is also a rising senior. We are on the east coast so a lot of bias towards “northeast” univ/colleges among teenagers here—there is a flood of top schools in the “Boston Pittsburgh Washington DC triangle”
