Is this program recommended? How hard is it to be accepted and do it? Does the “honors” get indicated on diploma?

The is no honor program at Cornell, but u can do an honor thesis and u will graduate with honors on your degree

I saw the HD honors “program” info and you have to take many certain classes and conduct research, I guess for the honors thesis? Will this help a med school application?

As a generic answer… Fairly universally agreed that med schools are very GPa and mcat driven. If you are aiming for top shelf medical schools then I think you would what to consider a more arduous honors program but not at the expense of gpa and mcat. Fwiw. ,…

You can do the honor thesis, I am also planning on doing that. It will look good on your application for med-school, but that won’t actually count much. As the person above said, GPA and MCAT are important.

So what is considered a good GPA for most med schools?

there are good graphics available which plot gpa on one axis versus mcat on the other - I think 3.8 looked like the sweet spot that I liked along with a highmcat score from my analysis. Obviously which undergrad is also important but the mcat result is one way for a med school to validate a given gpa for a given student, as the test is uniform.
