He received acceptance by all 4

Hello all,

My 18 year old son will be attending college in fall 2013. He received acceptance letters to the 4 colleges he applied to.

Not sure what he will decide. His first choice keeps changing.

NJIT, Newark, NJ
William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ
Fairleigh Dickinson College Florham Madison, NJ
Drew Univeristy, Madison, NJ

What would you decide?

TIA

What does your son want to study? What environment does he want? What will each alternative cost ?

Superficially I would prefer NJIT or Drew to the other two, but again, this is all dependent on the factors above.

Congrats to your son, sontocollege2013!!!
Of those four schools, would not Drew be the most expensive, or are they all roughly same?

Hi, good morning! sorry I posted in the wrong forum.

To answer your questions he is interested in Computer Science. He is in a technical HS(Passaic county Technical Institute) and has majored in CS since freshman year.

I believe Drew is the most expensive one of the four, then Fairleigh, NJIT and last WP.

He was also accepted at NJIT thru the EOP program and has to attend a 6 week summer program at the college if he chooses NJIT.

Any advice or recommendations?

Thanks!

Use this nifty tool if you need to compare aid packages: [FinAid | Calculators | Award Letter Comparison Tool](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Award Letter Requirements - Finaid)

If he is truly committed to a particular career, have him contact the career center on each campus, and ask them about internship and job placement. They should be happy to give him information about those things.

William Paterson has a terrible 4-year graduation rate, at 18%. By comparison, Drew’s is 61%.

Is Drew affordable for your family? Would he prefer a tech school (NJIT) or a Liberal Arts College (Drew)?

I think Drew and NJIT are the best choices from the list, but are very different kinds of schools.
