<p>Hey everybody,</p>
<p>I am not sure if being Head Boy (highest leadership position at school in New Zealand) is an extracurricular activity. If not, where could I put this? Being Head Boy was a really important part of my high school life, and I spent many hours fulfilling my responsibilities.</p>
<p>For additional info, I had to organise events such as the Leaver’s Ball (like the senior Ball), the Senior Yearbook, Graduation Assembly, and MC the Senior Prize-giving Ceremony.</p>
<p>Yeah, but it’s not a killer EC (don’t worry, not many ppl have truly outstanding EC). It’s sounds just like Class President/Student Council (like you said). Probably put it under leadership.</p>
<p>Ok, so it would be under the heading “Leadership”?</p>
<p>Haha yes, this alone wouldn’t be a fantastic EC. Jut to point out though, Head Boy is quite different to the Class President, and the process that one has to go through to be selected is very rigorous. Also, my school had a senior class of 500, of which only one Head Boy and one Head Girl got chosen, so hopefully it is more impressive than the “average” Class President.</p>

<p>I know for a fact that the headboy selection procress is more rigorous than the class president role in the U.S. </p>
<p>However, judging from what you actually organized, a class president in the United States would serve a similar role. Those are the kinds of things that a class president would be responsible for in many high schools in the U.S. And similarly, in the U.S. many high schools would have one or two class presidents (or co-presidents).</p>
<p>Many applicants at top universities in the U.S. are class president.</p>
<p>It’s an important role, but hopefully not the only EC on your list.</p>

i agree - put it under leadership; and if it reallyyy means that much to you, maybe expound upon it on another part of the app or in the additional info section.</p>

<p>@Jason110: This will not be the only thing on my EC, sorry for the ambiguity. I did not mean to make Head Boy sound more impressive than Class President; I merely wanted to mention that the circumstances in which I became Head Boy were slightly out of the ordinary.</p>
