Northern Virginia Rising Junior in High School wondering if I am heading in the right direction for getting into one of my dream schools University of Virginia, and with my interests, is it the right match for me?

I’ve been on college searches with my family but none have been focused on me at this point. I’m not sure where to begin, I know that I love UVA and have wanted to go there for years but I obviously want to look into what else is out there, not necessarily only Virginia Schools.

Interests:

Photojournalism/Design

The conscientious student that I am I have my schedule planned out for the last 2 years of my high school career:

-Plan to Start up French Club and or International Service Club (redistricting of my school is cutting my class in half)

-So far my cumulative GPA is a weighted 4.19
-I do not know my current class ranking but have been told that it should at least be in the top 5-10% margin
-My school is getting split in half so, i am now in a class of about 360 rather than my previous class of about 530

Any advice would be much appreciated, sorry for making this thread so long.
I plan to study for my SAT’s this summer, PSAT scores have been OK the past two years, nothing lower that 87th percentile in any area, but hope to bring my critical reading scores up.
