health care premium as child support?

separated and DH paid for health care for the family… Will it be considered as child support? the health care is not from work, but out of pocket for him… thanks

Unless this is mandated by the court as a form of child support, specifically called such, I would not consider it as child support. You can ask the school your child will attend whether they think you should include it.

Often a parent is required to supply the health insurance in a separation or divorce. It is usually NOT considered as child support. Often there is no extra cost to include the children on employer provided insurance, or the cost is minimal to add a child or 10 children. Parents split the cost of unreimbursed medical costs and those aren’t child support either.

Even if the spouse no longer living in the house pays the mortgage, it may not be alimony or child support. There are a lot of factors judges will consider when imposing child support amounts (like who provides the insurance) and how much the actual child support is.
