<p>I’m not currently enrolled in a college (taking a semester off), my mother doesn’t work and my father works abroad, which disqualifies me from the insurance provided by his company. What options do I have? I tried researching it, but frankly I can’t seem to find any info I can grab on to. Maybe someone here has a child who was in a similar situation and was able to obtain it? I can only afford small premiums…</p>
<p>Look at heathyny.com for the NY state plan. I believe that if you’re over 18, it’s available to you on a sliding scale. Good luck.</p>
