I may regret entering the fray here but your stress levels have my sympathy! I graduated ILR in 1992 and now am involved in the alumni ambassador network. My son is applying this year too so I’m reliving everything you’re going through. I didn’t get into my ED choice, but everything worked out just fine. Try to be Zen. You’ve done all that you can. I do want to say this about the one-on-ones. They are not an interview. It is just a touchpoint to help personalize a grueling process. Unless you have a fantastic new achievement to share, or reveal that you want to design and unleash a super-virus against humanity, it won’t help/hinder you. So, don’t sweat it. Enjoy your Senior year!

Such excellent advice. We are also trying to keep it Zen in our house for our senior. Expect nothing, hope for something. Everything will work out one way or another. That’s the mantra!

Agree fully with CUILR1992 about alum interviews. They are not interviews in the way that some schools host on-campus interviews. As I posted elsewhere, only half of last year’s applicants were ‘interviewed’ by the alum ambassador network, so applicants should not read anything in to whether or not they are contacted for an interview. Sometimes there is not an ‘interviewer’ available locally or the # of applicants exceeds the interviewer capacity.
