Hello

Hello everyone! I am new to this site and learning my around.

I live in NY and I’m looking for an arts program on the weekends my daughter can attend. I am aware of Pratt Institute’s program for teens on Saturdays, but that is soon to end and was wondering of another school that may offer the same.

Can someone offer insite? I forgot to mention she is about to enter HS.

Welcome! I don’t know anything about the programs you’re looking for, but most likely someone around here does.

How nice to meet you! I don’t have your advice, but someone will soon.

Application available Dec. 1.

Which “arts” are you interested in? Theatre, music, dance, fine arts, visual/film etc? College Confidential has discussion boards organized by college major, including a variety of arts majors, and pre-college programs for high school students is a topic frequently discussed under each major.

The Art Center, The Met, and the 92nd St. Y all have art classes for teens. ICP probably offers photography. The School of Visual Arts has a good summer program; I’m not sure about weekends.

I presume you meant visual arts.

Good luck! It sounds like fun.

My S spent his Saturdays in a pre-college music program for years, but now he’s in grads school for Art History. My D danced every weekend, but is now a budding historian. Nothing is wasted. These programs can be very enriching.
