i’m looking for a private school anywhere in the u.s (other than the southwest i.e. texas, new mexico)

i have no idea what major i’m going into, but possiblities are:

-chemistry
-marketing related
-health related maybe
-psychology…

yea… kind of a wide range…

please suggest any FIT schools or good “safeties” for me!! THANK YOU

If you are okay with chemistry as your major it opens up all the LAC’s. You have a lot more selection that way. If you really want marketing or psychology that limits you. You might consider University of San Diego for a match/safety in psychology.

Most LAC’s have psychology departments and it seems to be a popular major at many of them. However, you won’t be able to be a practicing psychologist or psychiatrist without more schooling.

Because you listed two academic areas plus two “practical” areas, the best place for you may be one of the large, comprehensive, private universities. Look at Boston University, NYU, George Washington University, and USC. If you are OK with pure academics for four years, how about Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Bates. You sound as if you could thrive at a top liberal arts college, but if you did that, you could not switch to a practical program like marketing, pharmacy, physical therapy, without transferring.

.

OneMom, if i were to be in a liberal arts college for 4 years, how can i get back into those “practical” areas without transferring? like, i finish the undergrad 4 years and go on to a business program for example
