Help!!! About Appeal to CAL

I just found out i got rejected from cal. I am thinking to appeal. the thing is i dont know how they define “significant new information”. I am going to send some information about my math research. I didnt mention that in my application coz i havent finished my research paper by then. Now, I am thinking to send them the abstract of my research paper. I defined some new math concepts and prove some claims. I wrote three math papers already, one for the math contest, one for research class and the last one is my own research program, new stuff… All of those are new theories. do you guys think those are significant new information? Here is my stat:

International Student in U of Iowa
GPA: 3.48
GPA in this semester: 4.0 so far
Major: Math
Honorable Mentioned Award in International Math Contest in Modeling
President of Table Tennis Club(Professional)
Math Research, defined some new math concepts and prove some new theories.

Do you guys think i should try? thank you very much for you ideas.

big zero!

10 char

hey…eL-shijunzi…i dont understand

u definately should =)

he means u have no chance at getting in on appeal…and i may have to agree, i mean u r international, ur out of state, and ur already at a 4 yr institution…those all really hurt ur chances, and ur gpa is too low considering all the other things…im sorry :(

thanks wasupieboy! that is wt i wanna say

thank you for ur guys’ opinions. … i am lost…i think research matters…especially some new theories…i think you guys are right.

u know if ur research actually goes big, then it wont matter WHAT school ur from, and then (assuming ur research goes big) u can go anywhere for ur grad school, and thats what really matters

i think my research does go big…my teacher said i was the first person to define those new concepts. even though i could go to good grad schools but i really care my undergrad too…i would like to spend my time in a really awesome school.

any more ideas? thanks guys
