Thank you for listening to my story. I’m an undergraduate junior student who just got expelled from my current college because of a FALSE ACCUSATION against me.
However, I’ve been applying to other schools during the investigation for plan B. Eventually, the dismissal along with the notation on transcript took place AFTER I’ve submitted my OFFICIAL transcript (by the school’s registrar office) without any dismissal notation to those colleges I wanted to apply.
So my question is, will it count as omitting or falsifying application information? I’ve even finished the application form of one of the colleges indicating I “have never been expelled from a college before”.
I didn’t lie to anybody because I was still innocent while I sent out the transcript, but do the admissions think this way as well? The thing I feel most nervous about is whether the admission will revoke the acceptance offer after they find out and think I was omitting and falsifying information.
You will feel better about this if you make an appointment with the admissions office at the place you would like to attend, and discuss everything directly with them.
The UCs don’t ask for the transcripts until May or June so I’m not sure what official transcript you sent them. If you are now short units losing out on this last term the answer is apparent- you can’t get in. If you have already been accepted, and don’t need any more classes, I think you need to see what is actually written on the transcript. There are various disciplinary actions and not all are noted on a transcript. I’d find that out first. I don’t particularly see it as lying if you are in academic good standing and the issue is not noted anywhere. I’m not advocating dishonesty, but it kind of depends on what the situation is. But again, I’m not understanding your statement that you sent the UCs the official transcripts. Not possible for fall 2018 admissions.
Update: Did you apply to the UCs? I realize this might be in another thread. If so, sorry.
What, exactly, was your status when you applied? Were you on a leave of absence pending this decision? Or were you enrolled and taking classes, but applied with the transcript as of the end of first semester? If you were enrolled and taking classes, then those classes would almost certainly appear on your truly final transcript. In that case, you need to send the new final transcript for sure.
To see what your transcript says, request an official copy for yourself.
Most colleges and universities will not admit transfer students who are not “in good standing” at the previous institution. You need to find out what you would need to do to be considered “in good standing” at your former college. For behavior (rather than academic issues), that can require a certain time period without enrollment anywhere while the student pulls their life together and changes their behavior.
