Hello. I find this forum very helpful and people are very kind so I would like to ask for help.
My child will end his school on May 20th this year and will switch to another school in September. We would like to send him to a program in May right after May 20th until August 13th. Ideally, the program is longer than 4 weeks. I have a hard time finding something starting in May although I found a lot of programs in July and August. If you know any program around May 21st, could you let me know?

The vast majority of kids are still in school until sometime in June, so they wouldn’t schedule summer programs around May 21.
Does it matter what kind of program or what the program offers? Are you wanting programs for the entire summer?
Ole Miss Summer college for high schoolers run for June and July (2 separate sessions, but you could do both)
Maybe look at National Outdoor Leadership School.
Look in the western states as the school year tends to start and end earlier there than in the east. That said, I haven’t seen summer programs much before the first full week of June.
I gather you are looking fora a residential program for your kiddo. Right?
Many schools in this country are not out until June. Most summer programs are 6-8 weeks beginning end of June am sending mid August.
To be honest, I do not think you will find a program for. 17 year old that starts on May.
Also…many of the summer programs have application deadlines that likely have already passed for this summer.
For example…my kids attended a music camp for years. There were two four week sessions. But the deadline for enrollment was about March 1.
Are you doing this because you will be traveling or something? If not, give the poor kid a break. As stated above, few programs start in May.
This is the best way I know how to ask this succinctly…why are you looking to warehouse the kid for the entire summer?
Any chance the kiddo could come home and get a job?
If he is 17, is he between HS and college…or is he switching high schools?
Do any of the high schools have summer school he could attend?
