HELP! average GPA, above average SATs, and a whole list of schools...

Hey guys,
I'm a first-time poster, long-time lurker :D
and I need help with my chances.

Majoring Undeclared, but a good study-abroad program is a plus.

3.3 UW ( with one C junior year. yikes )
3.6 - 3.8 W ( 10th,11th grades )
1450 SAT ( 750 v, 700 m)
730 SATII average ( w/ math IIc and everything 700+ )
Commended National Merit student

I've always taken the hardest courses that I could.
-4 APs this semester

I have completely average EC's-- can't lie there-- but I do have one varsity sport ( but no recruitment chances ).

I hope that my essays will be good, or at least above average.

According to Princeton Review's Couselor-matic( don't trust it, I know ), my matches are state-school + levels, but my reaches are as selective as Pomona and Stanford. So you can see where I'm having trouble, right? heh

Here's my list so far:
the UC's, not UCM or UCR (instate) - started app
USC - started app
a Claremont school, but which?
an out-of-state school, but I'm not sure which yet

Any other suggestions? i want to narrow my list to about 10-ish schools.
Do I even have a chance at really a selective school? I'm also worried that I don't have enough safeties. Excuse me if I'm rambling. hee
I wouldn't mind out of state, but I prefer California weather..haha. Feel free to be completely honest.

and Thanks a ton!

why not cornell? i mean except for the fact that it's on the east coast, u match for almost everything... they're not big on ecs

thanks, i'm glad you think I'm ivy league material :) but isn't my GPA too low though?

How are my chances at the UCs and other schools? Will they not emphasize it too much if my SATs are good? I'm hoping for UCLA or UCSB. A few other good privates would be great also.

wow i cant believe how well your stats match mine, i have a 3.39 gpa, same sat scores, same kinds of ec's but I'm a national merit semi-finalist. I'd give you advice but your just like me. Pick a better than average instate school and apply to the claremont schools for private, or maybe an east coast school if your interested like university of richmond or nyu

Claremont Pitzer seems like a school you ahve a good chance of getting into

i honestly think u could get into cornell... they put a lot of weight on the essays and sats... not so much on the actual grades... plus (the average gpa on a 4 scale was roughly a 3.6something...)

The average cornell gpa makes me feel better.

My favorite Claremont school is actually Pomona, although I have considered Pitzer (but -small voice- the male-female ratio is so much nicer at I'm going to end up at shallow-people hell for having said that :D)

This is turning into a "college selection" thread, huh?
so chances, anyone?

claremont mckenna is nice too, plus harvey mudd-nerdy though
